The Best Picture Awards Bagged By ‘Moonlight’

Moonlight picture has won in the category of the best picture at the Oscars. There was a terrible mistake first as the announcers declared La La Land as the best picture. This stunned all the viewers of Hollywood movies. On the grand ABC broadcast of Sunday, Faye Dunaway made the wrong announcement leading to an embarrassment of the musicians. The confusion was due to an envelope. The previous award was for the best actress and the La La Land actress had won that. Dunaway and Warren Beatty read out of the same envelope for the best movie too. This announcement later turned into chaos. Then, they corrected it saying that Moonlight is the best movie. People initially thought it was a joke, but later commotion arised as the announcers said that it was a mistake.

The Price Waterhouse Coopers, the votes tallying firm apologized profusely and said that they would investigate the matter as for how the wrong envelope was handed over at the wrong time. They felt awful for the goof up. The director of Moonlight said that those fifteen minutes were the life-changing moments of his life. He praised the La La Land crew for their graciousness. There were some satires thrown in on Donald Trump and the white house.

Gun Attack In Las Vegas

Stephen Paddock, a ruthless shooter opened fire at the Las Vegas concert. It is said to be one amongst the deadliest massacres. About 60 people were killed, and almost 550 people were injured. The festive crowd of nearly 22,000 people was traumatized. Stephen waited in the hotel room for three days and then opened fire from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay hotel. The Route 91 harvest festival of joy turned into an ultimate tragedy. He had 23 high technology weapons including automatic rifles. He fired for 5-10 minutes on the Sunday at approximately 10 pm. Before the police could arrest him, he committed suicide. The motive of this firing was unknown.

Stephen’s car had ammonium nitrate used for bombing, and his house had firearms, ammunition, and explosives. His second home was raided too, and police found electronic devices. The business owner from whom Stephen made all his purchases said that he completed all the necessary procedures and stuck to laws while buying the arms.

Donald Trump, the president of US, condemns this attack and said that laws for gun bearers must be revised. The ISIS took advantage of this situation and claimed that Stephen has converted into Islam before this attack and he was their supreme warrior. But the FBI later released a statement saying that Stephen was not connected to any terrorist group. Stephen waited for the final day of the three days festival targeting a massive crowd.

Stephen‘s brother said that he was a multimillionaire in investing business. Though he has a few physiological issues, he never has any criminal record. His father was a serial bank robber. Once he opened the fire, the crowd ran hither and thither. Many ex-army and police employees helped the wounded and saved many lives. Off-duty police officers did their duty correctly. Las Vegas became a mourning city reeling from the aftermath of the attack. All the joys and happiness evaporate into thin air. Many countries offered their condolences and support against the attack.

Brutal Attacks On Iran

The first attack of the Islamic group IS on the parliament, and Ayatollah Khomeini mausoleum of Iran has led to the death of approximately twelve people, and many more were injured. There was a counterattack by the Iranians, and after a few hours, the attackers were pronounced dead. The revolutionary guards of Iran blames U.S and Saudi Arabia on the attacks. The president of the United States had met a revolutionary leader of Saudi a week before the attacks. The Iran government touted the attacks as a consequence of the meeting. However, the U.S. government released a statement that they are not behind these attacks and hold no responsibility or grudge against Iran. Hassan Rouhani, the president of Iran, said that terrorism is a global problem and all the countries must join hands to eradicate it. The Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei quipped that this attack would not influence their country in any way.

On a Wednesday morning, shooters armed with dangerous arms entered the parliament and opened fire. Immediately, the Iran forces took over and surrounded the parliament. The Iran forces denied the hostage situation. The gunmen entered the parliament disguised as women. People inside fled through windows and emergency exits. After some time, the security forces were victorious in killing the four assailants.

At the mausoleum, the gunmen opened fire. One attacker was killed by self-detonation of the suicide bomb, and the other was killed by security forces. The suicide bomber was a woman. Several automatic arms and magazines of modern weapons were seized from the attackers. Forty people were injured, and the estimated casualty was twelve. After this incident, the popularity of the revolutionary guards grew and Iran, Syria hardened their policy against IS. Many countries condemned the attacks and emergency was declared in Iran as it was a severe attack after many years. The attacks were to target the Sunni community. The IS posted videos of its attacks and claimed that they would return soon.
